Kaneto Shiozawa, born Toshikazu Shiozawa on January 28, 1954, in Tokyo, Japan, was a renowned Japanese voice actor and narrator. He was known for his distinctive calm and aristocratic voice, which often led to him being cast as intellectual or villainous characters. His stage name was inspired by the Japanese director Kaneto Shindō. Shiozawa's career spanned from 1975 until his untimely death in 2000. He voiced iconic characters such as Rei in Fist of the North Star, M'Quve in Mobile Suit Gundam, Iason in Ai No Kusabi and Gray Fox in Metal Gear Solid. He also portrayed Prince Demande in Sailor Moon and Devimon in Digimon Adventure. His contributions extended to video games, anime, and even dubbing roles, including Luke Skywalker in Star Wars. Tragically, Shiozawa passed away on May 10, 2000, at the age of 46, due to a cerebral contusion caused by a fall at his home. His legacy lives on through the memorable characters he brought to life and the admiration of fans and fellow voice actors alike.
